I HAD A DREAM WHERE I WAS HUGGING EVERYONE

Solo exhibition

Exhibition I Had a Dream Where I was Hugging Everyone by Stefan Knezevic in O3ONE Art Space, is a reaction to displacement, heavily marked with solitude and isolation, from the course of life to which we were accustomed. Through sincere and sharp messages and objects bearing them, Stefan Knezevic’s latest works narrate of the desire for human closeness, the need of freedom, but also of the fear that occurs as a consequence of social distancing and limited freedom of movement. The author gives the function of art objects to everyday objects such as refrigerator, knife and glasses with the usage of text in the form of subtle messages which bear personal aspirations, professional worries as well as the feeling of uncertainty brought by the ‘’new’’ future. The series of posters containing text as the basic expression of artistic thought, uses the rhetoric of consumerism, advertising language and branded content to, both subtly and directly, communicate author’s desire to create and produce in times of social instability. The universality of the works is reflected in the moment of (global) isolation, where letters, words and images become the most dominant form of exchange.
